Insight Rises to #5 on Phoenix Business Journal’s ‘Best Places to Work’

Insight’s remote-work solutions for teammates and a workplace culture of innovation, inclusion and leadership development contribute to ranking as one of Arizona’s top enterprises

TEMPE, Ariz., December 16, 2020 – Insight Enterprises (NASDAQ:NSIT), the global provider of Insight Intelligent Technology Solutions™ for organizations of all sizes, has moved up two spots this year to #5 on the Phoenix Business Journal’s “2020 Best Places to Work” rankings of the largest companies in Arizona.

The Phoenix Business Journal announced the 2020 Best Places to Work during its 18th annual awards ceremony, held virtually on Dec. 8. This year, more than 100 companies were considered across five categories based on business size. Companies were ranked according to the results of confidential employee engagement surveys from Quantum Workplace considering a combination of company culture, executive communication, fairness in the workplace, and employee benefits and retention.

This is the fifth year in a row Insight, which employs about 1,400 full-time teammates in Arizona, has been considered a top 10 place to work among extra-large businesses (1,000+ employees). The latest top 5 ranking comes during a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic prompted most teammates at Insight’s two corporate headquarters offices in Tempe to work from home.

“To rate so highly on the Phoenix Business Journal’s employee engagement survey is a testament to the measures we’ve taken this year to help our teammates stay connected and motivated even as we’ve had to work apart from one another,” said Ken Lamneck, Insight president and CEO. “We’re an essential business equipping technology to many of the organizations serving on the front lines of the crisis, also providing strategic guidance as companies have had to adapt to a more digital approach to doing business. This made a seamless transition to work at home all the more critical for us, and we’ve been able to do that while providing our team a secure virtual workplace that keeps our culture of collaboration and innovation thriving.”

Considering the needs of its remote workforce, Insight created an internal resource hub and ramped up executive video messages dedicated to communicating key changes within the business, keeping spirits high, and offering support to teammates as the pandemic rapidly evolved. The company provided regular soft-skills training on topics like leading remote teams; and online alternatives to teammate benefits and at-work wellness programs, including taking virtual its on-site health clinic and Wellness Wednesday events like yoga and meditation sessions. In order to thank teammates for their dedication throughout a challenging year, an additional paid day off was provided on either World Smile Day (Oct. 2) or World Kindness Day (Nov. 13) this year.

Insight continues to promote diversity, equality and inclusion as a top priority. Aligned to its hunger, heart and harmony values, the company introduced a Global Harmony Day celebrating the unique skill sets and backgrounds of Insight’s more than 11,000 teammates worldwide. Insight’s teammate resource groups – promoting a respectful and inclusive professional environment, innovation through diverse perspectives, and community outreach – has grown to 15 chapters and more than 1,000 teammates across North America. This includes Tempe chapters of the Women With Insight, Afro Professionals and Allies at Insight, Unidos with Insight, and Insight Stands Out groups.

Leadership development also is important, and Insight offers training starting with aspiring leaders who are not yet in management roles all the way up to the executive group. These training opportunities primarily focus on leadership foundations, successful hiring, effective feedback, coaching and delegation, and situational leadership. An online Learning Resource Center also provides teammates self-led professional development courses.

“Our values and purpose center on making meaningful connections, whether that’s working together to grow our business, inspiring our clients to use technology in new ways to help them run smarter, or giving back to our communities. To be named as one of Arizona’s ‘Best Places to Work’ says that our teammates believe in what we’re doing and are proud to be a part of making a difference,” said Jen Vasin, senior vice president of human resources, Insight North America.
