Hidalgo County arial shot

An unforgettable story

Hidalgo County is a vibrant community in south Texas with 850,000+ residents. With nearly one-third of families living below the poverty line, the county experienced the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic especially hard.

Insight was selected to support the county with a solution for free public Wi-Fi that would deliver critical connectivity to rural and low-income students, families and teleworkers. About CBRS networks

Citizen Broadband Radio Service (CBRS), also known as private LTE, is a growing way to connect using a different frequency range than Wi-Fi. It was approved and is governed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

A few key points:

  • CBRS is designed for private use for enterprise networking and can either replace or complement an existing Wi-Fi network.
  • Secure by nature, CBRS leverages encrypted channels that require registered SIM cards for access.
  • CBRS offers a reduction in cells, thus can be an ideal alternative to Wi-Fi networks that would require dozens of access points to deliver optimal quality of service with minimal roaming.
  • Administrators have the option of spectrum slicing, or segmenting, CBRS networks to further enhance security and ensure performance across different devices and users on the network.

Insight can help you determine whether CBRS is right for your organization and support you in designing, implementing and managing a CBRS network.

Migrate to Wi-Fi 6.

The newest standard from the Wi-Fi Alliance, Wi-Fi 6, provides critical capabilities that enterprises need to compete in today’s fast-paced business environment. It’s designed to deliver quality connectivity in locations with hundreds or thousands of connected devices, as well as corporate networks that use time-sensitive, high-bandwidth applications. Plan your migration with these resources.

Wireless anywhere

It’s not always feasible to install permanent network infrastructure. With Insight Solar Network Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) solutions, connectivity is available whenever and wherever it’s needed.

These ruggedized and highly customizable units are built to suit your specific needs using industry-leading components and fabrication processes. Clients have leveraged RDU solutions to support various use cases, including disaster response efforts, community events and outdoor medical testing.
